Early Warning against Growing Income Disparity

Fourth Session of the Tenth National People’s Congress proposed “Strengthening Regulatory Powers in Income Distribution ”, specifically by means of “Standardizing the individual income distribution order, strengthening supervision of distribution outcomes, and efforts to alleviate the trend of the widening distribution gap between professions, regions and members of society” in order to realize the objective of “Striving to increase the income level of low-earners, gradually extending the proportion of those on medium incomes and effectively adjusting excessively high salaries.” However, in the actual process of operation, how to measure the state of income distribution among Chinese residents as well as how to calculate its changes and trends are key issues.
