Editorial note:

Rising food prices have become an international concern. The International Monetary Fund even warned that food price hikes could lead to war. What about food prices in the last few years in China, a country with 20% of the world’s population?  What macro-regulation measures have been taken? What are the important issues China must handle in response to the international food crisis to ensure food security? This paper presents an analysis of these issues.
