Three decades of reform and opening-up have brought tremendous change to the Chinese economy. Foreign-invested enterprises have undoubtedly played an important role in propelling this change. In developing these enterprises, China has garnered numerous accomplishments but faced some hurdles as well. Based on an examination of these accomplishments and difficulties, this article offers policy recommendations on promoting further growth of foreign-invested enterprises on a sound and fast track.
