A Debate on 2005 Chinese Economy

Abstract:

In March 2005, some scholars began to discuss the idea of a possible major downslide in the Chinese economy. On March 14, Stephen Roach, global chief economist of  Morgan Stanley, published the article “The China Disconnect” in the company’s “Global Economic Forum”, issuing the warning that the world finance markets are all but ignoring the possibility of a major economic slowdown in China.
