Analysis of China ’s T rade Surplus andDeficit

Editorial note:

In 2005, Sino-EU and Sino-US textile trade negotiations attracted great attention. In recent years, there has been an increase of anti-dumping cases against China in the international market. In 2004, even more incidents occurred of Chinese merchandise abroad being subjected to malicious damage. These negotiations, lawsuits and even conflicts reflect the trade friction at different levels in different forms. The reason behind this is the gradual change in trade relationships between China and other nations and regions as well as readjustment of the global trade structure. During the course of these changes and readjustments, China, East Asia and the West (Europe and the United States) played varied roles due to their differences in status.
