The massive inflow of foreign capital into China since the reform and opening to the outside world has promoted China’s rapid economic development, whilst also bringing negative implications for China’s industrial security. This paper examines the grave situation of China’s industrial security from the four different perspectives of the overall openness of micro-economy, industrial competitiveness, merger and acquisition by foreign capital and industrial upgrade. In conclusion, it points out six important issues meriting special attention in addressing China’s industrial security issues.
