Many scholars attribute China’s rapid economic growth to the ample local government incentives to develop the local economy. At the same time, there are also quite a number of scholars criticising China’s economic decentralization issues. However, few scholars have analysed the pros and cons of economic decentralization under a unified logical framework. Based on an empirical study and analysis, this article sets out the strategic priorities of reform at the next stage.
